How to use Understanding

A friendly tour of the site. Learn how things are organized, what every feature does, and follow short tutorials for the most useful flows.

What is Understanding?

Understanding is a multilingual glossary that helps you learn hard things in simple words. You can explore for free, search across every topic, and — if you create a free account — track what you've learned, keep a daily streak, and unlock premium topics.

Learn for free

Most terms are open to everyone. No account needed to browse, search or learn.

Made by humans

Every term is written and reviewed for clarity. We prefer plain words and real-world examples over jargon.

Multilingual

Switch between English and Spanish at any time. The whole site adapts instantly.

Explanations

How the site is organized

Understanding is built around three nested ideas. Once you see the pattern, everything else clicks into place.

  1. 1

    Topics

A topic is a self-contained glossary, like “Technology” or “Spanish Grammar”. Each topic has its own landing page, its own dictionary, and its own set of levels.

  2. 2

    Levels

Inside a topic, terms are grouped into levels by difficulty or theme — for example Fundamentals, Modern Tech, Security & Infrastructure. Levels keep things bite-sized.

  3. 3

    Terms

Terms are the actual glossary entries. Each term has a short definition, real-world examples, analogies, side-by-side comparisons, and a list of related terms.
