Término

From Latin terminus (end, boundary)

A término (term) is another way of saying "word". The two are often used interchangeably in Spanish — just as "word" and "term" are in English. However, término usually refers to a word or expression that has a specific meaning within a particular subject.

Examples

  • Éste es un término gramatical. ("This is a grammatical term.")
  • Aprendí términos médicos. ("I learned medical terms.")
  • No comprendí los términos en ese tema. ("I didn't understand the terms in that subject.")
