Indoeuropeo

Indoeuropeo (Proto-Indo-European) is an ancient language reconstructed by linguists^{1Linguists are the people who study languages and how they work.}, from which many languages descend, including latín (Latin), griego (Greek), and many others. No written texts survive in it, but linguists reconstructed it by comparing similarities between the languages that descend from it.

It is called "Indo-European" because the languages that came from it are spoken from India all the way to Europe. English and Spanish are both Indo-European languages — that is part of why some of their most basic words look related: madre / "mother", padre / "father", noche / "night".
